From The Capital:
A dozen Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judges are expected to choose a new state’s attorney this week after meetings with the candidates in Annapolis.
Administrative Judge Nancy Davis-Loomis, who is leading the search, said a new state’s attorney will likely be named by the end of the week.
One of the candidates is Kathleen Rogers, 52, of Davidsonville, who heads the child abuse and sex offense trial team at the State’s Attorney’s Office.
She told The Capital she has faced tough challenges which the State’s Attorney’s Office has been presented in the last 25 years.
“I have handled death penalty cases, complicated felonies, conducted difficult plea negotiations and demonstrated the courage and wisdom to make the right choices and stand by those choices,” she said. “The state’s attorney is not just a politician, is not just a manager, but truly is a prosecutor.”
