A two-alarm fire damaged a Davidsonville home a Monday afternoon.
The call came in at 2 p.m. for the blaze in the single family home on Appomattox Road, near the intersection of Route 214 and Riva Road. It soon went to a second-alarm.
The fire was out by 2:30 p.m. It is uninhabitable because of water and smoke damage, but not a total loss Division Chief Keith Swindle said.
Like most rural areas there are no fire hydrants in the neighborhood. The 48 firefighters on the scene used drafting tanks in the area to fight the fire.
There were no injuries. The American Red Cross was called to assist one adult who lived there.
The cause was under investigation and no damage estimate was available Monday afternoon.
