Shirley B. Smith, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday November 13, 2022 in Jacksonville, FL.
She was born on March 15, 1931 in Annapolis MD to the late Harold Butler and Ruth Butler. Shirley was a graduate of Annapolis High School, a skilled musician and member of the Episcopal Church. She enjoyed music, theater baseball and Navy Football and was thoroughly devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marion Thomas Smith Jr. Shirley is survived by her loving family, daughter Judith Rackliffe, sons Bradley B. Smith and Grant H. Smith, grandchildren Cheri Keenan, Dawn Rackliffe, Douglass Bayne, Brooke Smith, Bradley Smith Jr., Brandon Smith and Cody Smith, great grandchildren Kylee Keenan, Katie Keenan, Bradley Smith III, Lincoln Smith and Meadow Fowler, sister Barbara Scott and nieces Jennifer Scott and Heather Scott as well as many other family members and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Earl B Hadlow Center Community Hospice for their compassionate end of life hospice care supporting loved ones during Shirley's final phase of live. There will be a memorial service on January 21, 2023 at 11 am at All Hallows Episcopal Church at 864 Central Avenue Davidsonville MD followed by a Celebration of Life at the Crofton Country Club at 12:30 PM. Mom will be sorely missed but is in a better place. Her spirit and example will live on in our hearts and we will see her again one day.
