Christina Marie Campitelli, known to her friends as Chrissy and her family as “Momma Bear”, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on a warm early Spring day, surrounded by the family, friends and pets she loved, following her most recent battle against cancer.
She was born on January 16, 1969, and grew up in College Park Woods, College Park, MD. She attended Saint Marks, Elizabeth Seton (1986) and then graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (1991). She raised her family in Davidsonville, MD for 20 years until the family moved to be on the water in Edgewater, MD about 4 years ago. Chrissy devoted her life to raising her children and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved sitting on her dock enjoying the sunny South River, the beach, her children’s sporting events, boating with friends and family, and vacationing in Ocean City and the Florida Keys. She also enjoyed the company of her pets, Maggie, George and Louie. Chrissy is survived by her husband of 26 years, A.J. Campitelli, along with their three children, Anthony (24), Leo (22) and Caroline (20); her parents, Philip and Nona Ricker; her brothers, Philip (Jacqueline) Ricker and James (Amy) Ricker, as well as several nephews, Jacob, Wilson, Bennett, Miller, Luke and Grant and her niece, Gwenyth. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD on Friday, March 11 at 12:30 pm, with reception to follow.
