Barbara Roberts Passes Away

     Barbara Irene Roberts, 73, of Davidsonville, MD, died of Covid-19 related pneumonia Feb 5, 2021. 
    Born June 6, 1947 in Baltmore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eino Fagerlund and the late Rakkel Hamalainen Fagerlund. Mrs. Roberts grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Maine in 1969. She taught elementary school in Millinocket, Maine, for one year, Montgomery County, MD for seven years and in Anne Arundel County at Davidsonville Elementary and Central Middle School. She retired from teaching in 2010. She enjoyed knitting, baking, baseball, spending time with her grandchildren and golden retrievers, and keeping up with her baseball family. She was a Bowie Baysox season ticket holder and enjoyed being a housing family for Baysox players and staff.
    She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Melvin Roberts, two children, daughter Allison Fix of Columbia, MD, son Andy Roberts and his spouse Lauren of Odenton, MD, three grandchildren: Colin, Emily, and David, and four siblings.
