Peggy Stevens Passes Away
Peggy Joyce Stevens, 85, a 47-year resident of Little Flower Hill Farm in Edgewater, passed away on November 1, 2018, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Peggy was born on December 10, 1932, in Verda, Kentucky. During her career, she worked as a secretary for over 16 years at the Department of the Navy and briefly for Camp Letts in Edgewater but her most cherished position was a homemaker, taking care of her children and working on the farm. Peggy's hobbies included gardening, playing bridge and entertaining. Her annual Christmas parties were well loved and well attended. She also loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also living at her vacation home in the Cayman Islands.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Stevens, her children; William Stevens and his wife Carol of Edgewater and Lynne Prenatt and her husband Robert of Annapolis, her brother Pete Thompson of Tennessee. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Rebecca, Evelyn, Jimmy, Dahlia, Georgianna, Sam, Celine, Nichole, Lydia, Eva and William, and her great-grandchildren Chad and Quinten.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Peggy's life on Friday, November 9, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 10, 2018 1:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Easton, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Hopkins Arthritis Center, Mason F. Lord Center Tower, 5200 Eastern Ave, Suite 4100 Baltimore, MD 21224.
