The Ford Motor Company started producing the 1958 Edsel in late 1957. In 1959, sales started to slow. When production started on the 1960 model in late 1959, they only produced a few thousand in the 44 day production run. Serial number 1 of that year is now owned by Edsel collector Jim Popp of Davidsonville.
