It is with deepest sadness that at age 84, we had to say good-bye on April 21, 2013 to our loving mother and Oma, Irmtraud Marie Spieker (nee: Engelke).
Born in Bremen, Germany, she was a long time resident of Davidsonville, MD.
According to her wishes, she was able to pass away, after a short illness, at home quickly and painlessly. We will sorely miss her constant humor, help and love. In line with her giving spirit, she chose to donate her body to science through the Anatomy Board of Maryland. Thus, instead of a funeral service, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Annapolis, Maryland.
In grateful memory, we are her sons, Heiko Spieker from Baltimore, MD, and Michael Spieker, from Elkton, MD, and her grandchildren, Heiko Spieker II, from Baltimore, MD, Kristin and Jon Olszewski, Mickey, Mathias and Monika, all from Bel Air, MD.
