Andrew Lubienski is coaching some Davidsonville Elementary School students in chess who have won tournaments, brought home trophies and spread the game to other students.
A Davidsonville chess team won the King of the Hill Tournament April 20 at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center in Annapolis. That same day, a team from Davidsonville placed third in the state tournament at Severn School. On April 15, the team won the Broadneck Invitational at Broadneck Elementary.
