Patricia Rocker Passes Away

    Patricia Ann "Patty" Rocker, 56, a 3-year resident of Glen Burnie and previously of Edgewater, MD, passed away on December 25, 2022, surrounded by family.
    Born on May 21, 1966, in Bedford, PA to the late Nancy and William Fyfe Sr., Patty earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown. She worked at the Maryland Municipal League in Annapolis then changed paths and devoted her career as school secretary for the Anne Arundel Public Schools at Central Elementary in Edgewater. Patty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed collecting nutcrackers and blown-glass art.
    Patty is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, James Rocker; her son, Steven Rocker of Glen Burnie; her daughter, Amanda Rocker of Wichita, KS; and three brothers, William Fyfe, Jr. and Lorne Fyfe, Sr., both of Bedford, PA and Brian Fyfe of Manns Choice, PA.
    Memorial Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, December 28 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7500 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 300, Greenbelt, MD 20770 (please include Patricia Rocker on the memo line) or at: www.donate3.cancer.org. Plane Crash In Edgewater

 A small plane ran crashed in the icy water in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on Monday morning, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said.

First responders say the crash happened just before 10:30 a.m. in the area of 3000 Stonehenge Drive. The plane went into Beards Creek.

The crash happened near Lee Airport in Edgewater.One person – the pilot – was on board at the time of the crash. He was recovered safely.

Maryland State Police (MSP) said that the preliminary investigation indicates that moments after the pilot took off from Lee Airport, the engine of his plane began sputtering.

Danny Bibbee of Davidsonville Passed away Dec. 22, 2022.    He was born May 27, 1967.

Gerda Gonalez Passes Away

 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerda Martha Gonzalez (Davidsonville, Maryland), who passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 83.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Vincent Gonzales and Victoria Harris; and her brothers, Louie Gonzales and Mervin Gonzales. She is survived by : her children, Doreen Curtis, Charles "Chris" Francis (Jalda Mason), Norman Francis (Nicole Francis), Lancelot "Gerry" Palmer and Ralston "Tim" Francis; her grandchildren, Kimberlee Mason-Gyles (Peter Gyles), Jannique Greenland of Keleicia, Mason-Francis, Kendell Mason-Francis of Norman, Francis Jr., Isaiah Francis, Ashleigh Palmer of Lancelot, Palmer Jr., Alexa Palmer and Ansleigh Francis; her great grandchildren, Cameron Gyles, Ethan Gyles, Katalina Mason, Kayden Richards and Khelani Davis; and her siblings, Llyod and Sylvia Gonzales.

Vehicle Accident on 424

There was a vehicle accident on Rt. 424 Sat. night aboout 6 PM that knocked a BG & E pole down.  Power was down in that area for about 2 hours.

Spencer Leads Rutgers in Win

Cam Spencer of Davidsonville lead the scoring for Rutgers in their 81-57 win over Wake Forest on Dec.17.  Cam had 15 points, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Joshua Woodward Passes Away

Joshua Hugh Woodward, 39, of Madison, VA passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in Davidsonville, Maryland. He was born on November 7, 1983, in Charlottesville. He was the son of the late Hugh Ross Woodward, maternal grandparents, Jessie and Sallie Dobyns and paternal grandparents, Andrew and Susie Woodward.

Mary Eshman Has Passed Away

DAVIDSONVILLE, MD -- Mary A. Eshman was born in Lima, In 1953 she married John Eshman from Sidney Ohio.

She was predeceased by her husband John, a Navy Captain; Her son U.S. Navy Commander Dr. Stephen Eshman; Her parents Ray & Marie; Her brothers Ray, Donnie, Pat & the Reverend Paul Dorley. She is survived by her sister Jean Holtz of Lima. Her daughters Cathy (Mike) High of Va.: Andrea (Ed) Rybcznski of Md; her daughter-in-law Rosemary Tiernan of Md. She had 5 grand children & 7 great grandchildren.

Dale Foster (Sally) of Centreville, MD and Ronnie Foster of Davidsonville, MD; his sisters, Cornelia Largent of Florence, SC and Dottie Britton of Annapolis, MD; his grandchildren, Glenn "Duke" Foster, Jr., Justin Foster, Tyler Ladd, Paxton, Griffen Ochiltree, Michael Hirschbock, Jeremy Gunther, Tyler Zarcone, Heather Cook (Matt), Taylor and Coral Dittmar; and his great grandchildren, Landon, Abby Cook, Jaylynn Foster, Emily, Madelyn, Gavin Hirschbock, Everett and Elliott Gunther.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 7th 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory (2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8th 2022 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
