The Rotary Club of South Anne Arundel County is delighted to announce the 9th Annual Lights of Kindness charity event, a Christmas tree decorating contest, December 2–4 at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland.
This event has been important to our community over the past years as, with the help of business and private event sponsors, these unique and magical events raised $162,980 over eight years for local charities, including the Rotary Club's commitment to the Bountiful Backpack Program, providing food every week for disadvantaged South County children and their families.
Last year more than 10,000 people walked through the Lights of Kindness tree forest during the holiday rush at Homestead Gardens.
Inflation and economic conditions continue to create needs in our community. The Lights of Kindness Christmas tree decorating contest provides business sponsors a valuable marketing opportunity that also raises thousands of dollars for local charities.
The goal is to raise awareness for both local charities and businesses that strive to make our community a better place. The proceeds from Lights of Kindness benefits local non-profits, including the Rotary Club’s commitment to the Bountiful Backpack Program, currently delivering food to needy families in South County.
All trees will be displayed at Homestead Gardens Friday, December 2 thru Sunday, December 4, and visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tree during their regular business hours or online at www.RotaryLightsofKindness.org.
Winning trees will be announced on Monday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m.
