Joseph Paul Lewandowski, 75, passed away October 14 , 2021 at his home in Davidsonville, MD after a long battle with ALS.
He was the loving husband of 32 years to Janis Kramer; dedicated stepfather to Lynn Kramer and Andrew Kramer (Jean); Grandpa Joe to Rachel, Ashley and Ethan; devoted uncle to Anne Rossbach (Tom), Kathie Richardson (Jeff), Mary Stylc (Greg), Jean Mack (Michael) and Margaret Dorsey (Kevin). He is also survived by 5 grand nieces, 3 grand nephews, 1 great-grand niece, 2 great-grand nephews and many friends and neighbors.
Joe was born on June 29, 1946 to the late Thaddeus and Anna (Kemp) Lewandowski in Locust Point, MD. He graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School in 1960, Mt. St. Joseph High School in 1964 and the University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1968. Joe played CYO basketball and soccer for Our Lady of Good Counsel. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf, working in his woodshop, setting up his annual Christmas train garden and walking the mall and his neighborhood. Joe worked for the Maryland State Department of Natural Resources as Chief Of Enforcement, Water Resources Administration and for Allied Chemical. He was an Environmental Consultant and Manager with Environmental Resources Management.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brothers, John and Robert Lewandowski. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of the Chesapeake or the charity of your choice.
