DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Police say a driver flew into oncoming traffic Wednesday evening, eventually crashing into a mailbox, picket fence and two trees in Davidsonville. After a brief hospital stint for minor injuries, officers arrested the man on several gun charges.
Police say Chesapeake Beach man Cortez
Lamont Reid wrecked in the area of Central Avenue and West Patuxent River
Crossover around 5:30 p.m. A report indicates that Reid's black 2010 Ford
Taurus was the only car involved in the accident.
Police claim they found a loaded
.22-caliber revolver in the car and a spring-assisted switchblade on Reid. The
24-year-old man faces charges of one felony and four misdemeanors.
The felony accuses Reid of possessing a
gun, despite having a previous felony charge. The misdemeanors allege that Reid
illegally possessed a firearm, that it was on his person, that it was loaded
and that he illegally had ammunition for that weapon.
