Auto Accident On Birdsville Rd.

HARWOOD, MD — A four-vehicle collision at the intersection of Solomons Island Road and Old Birdsville Road near Harwood Tuesday afternoon caused life-threatening injuries to one man and serious injuries to another. Original reports indicated that occupants were trapped in a vehicle, but Anen Arundel County firefighters didn't find anyone they needed to extricate after they arrived on the scene.

However, a 58-year-old man had sustained critical injuries in the accident and was flown by state medevac helicopter to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. A 39-year-old man was taken to the trauma center at UM Prince George's Hospital Center with serious injuries. A 61-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were both taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries.
