CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Colgate junior guard Jordan Burns was named the Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Loyola Maryland freshman guard Cam Spencer of Davidsonville claimed rookie of the week honors when the League office announced weekly accolades on Monday.
Spencer picked up his first Patriot League Rookie of the Week award by averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in Loyola Maryland’s 2-1 week. He scored a career-high 16 points to go along with five assists against Omaha to join Golden Dike as the second Greyhound to earn rookie of the week honors this season.
Spencer averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in Loyola Maryland’s 2-1 week, helping the team to wins against IUPUI (81-77) and Binghamton (77-65). The freshman guard scored a career-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists against Omaha on Monday. He had 13 points and five assists against IUPUI and 11 points and five assists against Binghamton while shooting .577 (15-of-26) from the field and .467 (7-for-15) from beyond the arc.
