Sharon Lee King, a 32-year resident of Davidsonville, MD passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016.
She was 64. Sharon was born on March 3, 1952 in Washington, DC to the late Lawrence William and Lilly May Palmer. She was the youngest of 6 children who were raised in Baltimore. As a teenager, Sharon moved to Pasadena where she attended Northeast High School. In 1977, Sharon married Glenn King, and they were married for 38 years. Sharon was a stay at home mom who loved camping and traveling with her family. She would often accompany her husband, Glenn, during his many work trips. Her favorite destinations were Ireland and Hawaii. Most recently she enjoyed vacations with her family to the Outer Banks and the Black Hills of South Dakota including Mt. Rushmore.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Glenn. She is survived by her three children, Kevin (Jennifer) King of Glen Burnie, Amanda (Carl) Recktenwald, Jr. of Odenton, and Jessica (Greg) Barnett of Pasadena; two brothers, Lawrence Palmer of Fallston, Robert Palmer of Abington; and 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, August 31 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, on Thursday, September 1 at 11am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church Cemetery.
