Henry Carr Passes Away

    Henry "Pete" M. Carr, 66, of Davidsonville, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center March 23.
    Pete was born in Annapolis and lived most of his life in the Davidsonville area. During the Vietnam War, Pete entered the Air Force in 1966, where he was trained in aircraft structural repair. He would continue this work as a civilian on Andrews Air Force Base with the 89th Presidential Airlift Wing. Pete worked the Carr family farm.
    He was a member of the Anne Arundel Fish and Game Association and a leader in the Boy Scout Troop 454 for nearly 20 years. Also, Pete was Santa Claus at Homestead Gardens for 26 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Carr.
    He is survived by his wife, Carol, whom he
married in 1998; mother, Florence "Boots" Carr; three sons, Kristopher (Martha) Carr of Davidsonville, Chad (Joni) Carr of Indian Head, and Kevin (Lee Ann) Sweeney of Eldersburg; daughter, Melissa Burgess of Riva; and six grandchildren, Dixie Lee Carr; Hannah and Nathan Sweeney; and Corinn, Devon, and Hailee Burgess. Friends are invited to Pete's Life Celebration from 6 p.m. until his funeral service begins at 8 p.m., Thursday, March 27 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater.
