Shenandoah Run Fundraiser At Maryland Hall

Davidsonville resident Joe Dickey has organized this Fundraiser Concert for the residents of Ukraine.  Be sure to read this info below about the vconcert and cause.

WE ARE ALL UKRAINE
a benefit concert by Shenandoah Run
July 22 7:30pm Maryland Hall

Dear Friends

In looking at the catastrophe in the Ukraine, I feel like the little drummer boy in the Christmas song; and so here I am, playing music to help the Ukraine people. Maybe we can raise a little money to help with shelter, food, and medical aid; hence, the concert.

Overhead expenses are provided by the generosity of Maryland Hall, a couple of sponsors, and Shenandoah Run. Every penny raised through the ticket donations goes to the cause. So give what you can. Use the button below or go to Maryland Hall’s website, enter a donation amount and number of seats. If you can’t attend but want to donate, you can just choose “1” for the number of seats. Donations are tax deductible.

It should be a good concert in it’s own right; lots of spirited and heart-felt Americana.

More details below.

With best personal regards to everyone,

Joe Dickey

Future FBI Headquarters

The long awaited decision as to the new FBI location is coming soon.  This could drastically alter the commuting plans of many Davidsonville residents, as well as affect the real estate market.

 A Maryland Matters Staff Report

June 21, 2022

Maryland and Virginia politicians vying for the prize of a new FBI headquarters have just a few months left before a crucial federal government decision.

The U.S. General Services Administration is expected to pick the best of three locations as soon as September, ending nearly two decades of advocacy, confusion and frustration across four presidencies about whether the FBI should move to the suburbs bordering the District of Columbia or stay downtown.

GSA staffers told Congress last week during closed-door briefings that all three possible locations selected as options during the Obama administration — Greenbelt and Landover in Maryland and Springfield, Va. — are still viable locations for the future FBI headquarters.

MAN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH FATAL DUI CRASH IN DAVIDSONVILLE GETS RELEASED ON BAIL

The man who was arrested and charged last month in connection with a fatal alcohol related accident in Davidsonville has been released on bail.

Bail was set in the case to $250,000. According to court records, 48 year old Christopher Jonathan Asher was released on June 3, 2022, from the Jennifer Road Detention Center after posting a $25,000 cash bond.

An Anne Arundel County Police Department press release stated officers were called to Davidsonville Road at Kings Retreat Road for a crash involving a pedestrian on May 17, 2022, at approximately 10pm.  Officials said the officers arrived and learned that Asher's 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee had struck another another vehicle before continuing ahead and striking a road crew worker, later identified as Lizbeth Guzman of Baltimore. Guzman, 56, was reportedly airlifted to an area hospital where she later died.

Investigators believe Asher kept going until he came to a stop after hitting a community sign, police said. He was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest. Asher was charged with nearly a dozen charges related to the accident, including negligent manslaughter, death of a vulnerable individual and reckless driving.

Court records show that in addition to posting bail, Asher was released under the certain conditions:

1. DEF IS TO SURRENDER PASSPORT PRIOR TO RELEASE.

2. DEF IS TO BE EVALUATED BY FATHER MARTIN ASHLEY'S FOR TREATMENT AND RECEIVE ALCOHOL TREATMENT THERE OR AT OTHER ALCOHOL TREATMENT FACILITY.

3. DEF IS TO BE RELEASED AFTER OBTAINING AND WEARING SCRAM BRACELET AND SHALL WEAR CONTINUALLY; SCRAM FACILITY SHALL PROVIDE ANY RECORDS REQUESTED BY STATE'S ATTORNEY AT ANY TIME.
