Ray Thrift Passes Away


    Ray Addison Thrift, Sr., 70, a resident of Glen Burnie and previously of Davidsonville, died April 9 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
    Born in Washington, D.C., Ray served the community as a police officer with the Anne Arundel County Police Department for 30 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #213 in Glen Burnie.
    Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Thrift, who died August 26, 2003. He is survived by four sons, Vernon R. Thrift of Bruceton Mills, WV, Ray A. Thrift, Jr. of Indian Head, Kevin L. Thrift of Annapolis and Thomas B. Thrift of Pasadena; sister, Dianne Sanner of Huntingtown; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.
    Friends are invited to Ray's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, April 14 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where his funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 15. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
