This past Monday, April 7, 2014, eight area schools competed in the Broadneck Invitational Chess Tournament hosted by Broadneck Elementary. Each team had eight individual players who competed in three rounds of competitive chess. The Davidsonville Elementary School chess team was awarded first place. The team players were Kameron Davis, Teddy Fleming, Danny Goforth, Ryan Hallam, Conner Lawrence, Tabitha Oakes, Patrick Suplee, and Josh Svitak. The DES chess team is coached by Andrew Lubienski and Chase Gwinn.
