Chris Navarro Takes MIAA Golf Title

Chris Navarro of Davidsonville,  playing for Spalding High, shot an even par-36 and finished the MIAA stroke play championship on top with a 45-hole total of 182.  The final round was played in cold and rainey conditions at Baltimore Country Club's West Course.
The final round was called after nine holes on Tuesday and the scores were totalled after 45 holes. Navarro, who won his second individual title, overtook Severn’s Eric Hall, who entered the day one stroke ahead of Navarro. Hall shot a 40 and finished second, three strokes behind with a 185.

Previously:
Chris Navarro and Kyle Berkshire swept their matches, with each carding a 1-under 35 to lead the Spalding Cavaliers over the Mr. St. Joseph Gaels at Rolling Road Country Club. Ryan Kelly’s 39 also allowed him to sweep his match, while Matt Starobin won his match, shooting a 38 and Patrick Owen won his match firing a 40. Jason Somers’ 38 also won points for Spalding (4-0), whose 12-point victory represented the highest margin of victory over Mount St. Joseph since the Cavaliers joined the MIAA A Conference 12 years ago.
