Following a record-setting senior season at South River High, Connor Cox of Davidsonville wasn’t thrilled with his collegiate options. St. Frances (Pa.) was the only school that put scholarship money on the table, but Cox decided following an official visit that he didn’t like the football program.
Several college coaches who recruited Cox advised him to attend prep school in order to further develop.
Cox went that route and enrolled at Loomis Chaffee, a renowned boarding school in Windsor, Conn where he was the team’s starting quarterback the entire 2013 season and put up outstanding numbers. Just as importantly, the 6-foot-2, 195-pounder grew an inch and added about 15 pounds of muscle which made his a more desired recruit and with the help of the coaches there, he was able to get recruited from several universities and picked University of Dayton of the Pioneer League, located in Dayton, OH.http://www.capitalgazette.com/sports/high_school_sports/former-south-river-star-quarterback-commits-to-dayton/article_08d992b4-d0e1-532b-8350-d751f80b6148.html
