The Rotary Club of South Anne Arundel County is working in tandem with Disaster Aid USA in collecting donations for relief efforts in the Philippines. The area was devastated in the aftermath of powerful Typhoon Haiyan, which washed away homes and buildings. Disaster Aid USA provides tents, lights, potable water, water filters, mosquito tents, tools and other supplies needed for survival.
The scale of devastation makes it one of the worst storms ever recorded and emergency relief efforts continue. Larry Agee, executive director of Disaster Aid USA, said the organization dispatched a response team after the recent earthquake. Now, the efforts are increasing in the aftermath of the typhoon.
We're asking the local community to help. Credit card donations are being accepted at southcountyrotary.org. Checks (payable to SAACRC: memo DAUSA) can be sent to The Rotary Club of South Anne Arundel County, PO Box 131, Edgewater MD, 21037. 100% of the proceeds will go to the relief effort.
