Katherine Jablonski Passes Away
Katherine Rose Marie Jablonski “Kay”, 88, a thirty four year resident of Davidsonville, MD died of natural causes on Monday, April 15 at her residence. Born on September 6, 1924 in Troy, NY, Kay was a graduate of Catholic High in Troy and of the Catholic University School of Nursing in Washington, D.C. She worked as a hearing and sight technician in the Prince George’s County Public School system for many years and enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and travelling.
Kay was preceded in death on January 1, 1986 by her husband, Edwin J. Jablonski, they were married on January 23, 1945. She is survived by six sons, David (Marsha) Jablonski of Alexandria, VA, Paul (Rosaria) Jablonski of Annapolis, MD, Mark (Fran) Jablonski of Damascus, MD, Edwin (Silvia) Jablonski, Jr. of Annandale, VA, Richard Jablonski of Sykesville, MD and Peter (Francine) Jablonski of Edgewater, MD; two daughters, Anita (Randel) Smith of Annapolis, MD and Lynn (James) Moser of Maui, HI; a sister in law, Dorothy Rochlin of Silver Spring, MD; seven grandsons, Gaynor Jablonski of Washington, D.C., Brian (Jennifer) Smith of New Market, MD, Dolan (Melanie) Jablonski of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Jablonski of Damascus, MD, Zachary Jablonski of Edgewater, MD, James and William Moser of Maui, HI; nine granddaughters, Lisa Berry of Jacksonville, FL, Julie Smith of Annapolis, MD, Katerina and Brittany Moser of Maui, HI, Antoinette Jablonski of Edgewater, MD, Nicole Towle of Springfield, VA, Elishia Kotb of Falls Church, VA, Rebecca Sponga and Shelby Barber of Annandale, VA and four great grandchildren, Hannah and Bradley Smith, Kylie Berry and Jake Jablonski.
Friends are invited to Kay’s Life Celebration on Sunday, April 21 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD and on Monday, April 22 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am when a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment will be at 9:00 am on Tuesday April 23 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Cheltenham, MD.
