Balzano a Candidate For Teacher of Year

    Lori-Ann Balzano,  a second grade teacher at Davidsonville Elementary,  is one of five semi-finalists for Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year.
    Balzano has been a teacher for 16 years. With her husband in the military, she has taught everywhere from Texas and Arizona to South Carolina and New York. She began at Broadneck Elementary 9½ years ago and, after a few years there, came to Davidsonville.
    The five public school finalists, selected from a field of 17 semifinalists, will be interviewed by a panel of students, educators, administrators and business leaders. The winner will be announced April 29 and will represent Anne Arundel County at the state Teacher of the Year competition later this year.
