The AACTA (Anne Arundel County Tennis Assn) Fall Tournament started on Wednesday afternoon
under the able direction of Stacia Bontempo. The finals are scheduled on
Sunday. Local players will have to contend with players from as far away as
Virginia and Florida. The top seeds include many local players from the county.
Men’s
open singles: (1) Reginald Beard (S. Chesterfield, Va.), (2) Robert Nuscher
(Severn).
Men’s 50
singles: (1) John Donelson (McLean, Va.), (2) Richard Boothe (Darnestown).
Men’s 4.0
singles: (1) Matt Horowitz (Fulton), (2) Gary Fourson (Lanham).
Women’s
4.0 singles: (1) Donna Fox (Lothian), (2) Kristin Draper (Annapolis).
Mixed
open doubles: (1) Barbara and Thomas Linke (Odenton), (2) Angela Bennett
(Annapolis) and Jamie Engles (Glen Burnie).
Combined mixed 8.5 doubles:
(1) Gary Gladden (Odenton) and Marla LaHaye (Annapolis), (2) Michael Davis
(Davidsonville) and Ann Traxler (Davidsonville).
