Joseph Aisquith Passes Away


Joseph R. “Cooney” Aisquith, a lifelong resident of Edgewater, passed away on May 2, 2015, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born on September 18, 1922 in Birdsville, MD, to the late Peter and Edith Aisquith, Cooney made his living as a tobacco farmer. He was a Baltimore Orioles fan and especially enjoyed hunting and talking with his friends. He was also a 40-year member of the Annapolis Moose Lodge.
Cooney was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lilly Aisquith, who died in 2014, two brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by his nephews, Percy L. (Mary) Aisquith and Gerald W. Aisquith; his niece, Rose (Andy) Carter as well as many other nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Friends are invited to celebrate Cooney’s life on Thursday, May 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, May 8, from noon until his funeral service begins at 1 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment will be at All Hallows Cemetery, 3604 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the AAMC Foundation, 2001 Medical Parkway, Sajak #550, Annapolis, MD 21401.
