A bridge connecting Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties has been closed until further notice for emergency repairs.
The Prince George's County Department of Public Works, which maintains the Governor Bridge Road bridge, put in a request to close the bridge Monday following an inspection by a contractor. While it is unclear what the contractor found, the bridge has been closed.

Prince George's County maintains the bridge, but the two counties share expenses for maintenance and upkeep. Warning signs and barriers were put in place about 7:30 p.m. Monday, said Anne Arundel Department of Public Works spokesman Matt Diehl.
No timeline for the reopening of the bridge was immediately available Tuesday morning.
