Alta Joy Wood, age 90,a longtime resident of Davidsonville, MD, died December 8,2014 at her home.
Born August 10,1924 in Galesville, MD to Franklin W. and Alta Kolb Dixon she was a book keeper for the family business Dixon Motor Company. She was an active member of the Davidsonville United Methodist Church where she also enjoyed singing in the Choir.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Irving Lee Wood, and a brother Glenn Dixon. She is survived by her sons Franklin I. Wood and his wife Susan and Dixon L. Wood and his wife Dorothy. Brothers Walter and Robert Dixon. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hardesty Funeral Home P.A. 905 Galesville Road Galesville, MD 20765. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 13 at 11:30 am in The Davidsonville United Methodist Church 819 W. Central Ave. Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment Church Cemetery.
