Michael Osborne "Mike" Peddicord, 62, of Harwood, died November 10 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
A graduate of Southern High School, Salisbury State College and Bowie University, Mike was a teacher at Crofton Woods Elementary School for 39 years where he had a vested interest in the lives of his students. He also ran the family farm in Harwood. Mike was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and recently had been attending Belcroft Bible Church in Bowie. He enjoyed reading, traveling, history and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals.
He is survived by his wife, Anita, son Ben and his wife Tara, and daughter Tori. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Sunday, November 16 at 2:00 PM at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name may be made to Seneca High Adventure Christian Camp, 4460 Solomons Island Road, Harwood, MD 20776 or Camp Wabanna, 101 Likes Road, Edgewater, MD 21037.
