David Blackshear Article

The committee tasked with picking a new executive director for the Lafayette Louisiana Regional Airport whittled its list to four following a vote Tuesday, the search committee chairman said.
The vote among the five members, which was revealed during Thursday's meeting, removed David Blackshear, the vice president of Applied Airport Technology of Davidsonville, Maryland, from consideration, Paul Guilbeau said.
That leaves four people, three with Louisiana connections, in the running: Jason Devillier, airport director at Acadiana Regional Airport in New Iberia; Ralph Hennessy, assistant director of Aviation at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport; Robert Kennedy, vice president of Consulting Services at Aviation Strategis International in Georgia; and Steven Picou, deputy director of Aviation at Amarillo International Airport in Amarillo, Texas.
"Any one of the five could have served us well," Guilbeau said. "It's obviously getting harder and harder to whittle them down."
The search for a new director comes after longtime director Greg Roberts resigned in June.
