Betty Boaz Passes Away

Boaz, Betty M. passed away on December 25, 2017 after a short illness.
She was born on June 16, 1936 in Wyandotte Michigan to the late Gladys and Louis Holt and grew up in Allen Park Michigan. She married Gale L. Boaz in 1955 after which they moved to Lincoln Park, where they lovingly raised 3 children. As a family, and later as empty nesters, Gale and Betty spent summers boating with friends throughout Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and the surrounding areas. After Gale passed in 1997 Betty continued to live in Lincoln Park until 2003 and to dote on her 3 grandchildren.
She next moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Joe O'Neill in Davidsonville MD and became fulltime Nanny to her grandson Collin. Betty had many jobs throughout her life, but her true passion was spending time with her family. She was a doting Grandmother. who enjoyed nothing more than bringing the entire family together for a beach or mountain vacation or a limo ride to celebrate a special occasion. She derived so much pleasure from giving generously to her family and from simply spending time with them.
Despite spending the last years in Maryland with her loving family Betty's heart often returned to MI where she and Gale made so many great memories with boating friends. She often spoke of her dear Michigan friends and their adventures on the Great Lakes, in Florida, and Las Vegas.
She is survived by her children Gregg M. Boaz of Virginia Beach VA, Mark S. Boaz of Annapolis MD and Kelly L. O'Neill of Davidsonville MD and her grandchildren Jayna, Caitlin, Clint and Collin. Betty touched all those who she met and she will be sorely missed by friends and family alike.
