River Farm Park Archeological Dig

River Farm Park, a working farm for many years, is now part of the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary which is a site in Lothian owned by Anne Arundel County.
This spring and summer, archaeologists from the county, the state, the Archaeological Society of Maryland and the Lost Towns Project investigated a Native American village site at River Farm. More than 100 people, most of them volunteers, excavated test units, found more than a dozen features and recovered thousands of artifacts that span at least 10,000 years.    To read more about this,  go to:
