Patricia Young Passes Away


    Patricia Anne "Pat" Young of Davidsonville, Maryland passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016.
    Pat was a mathematician with the Department of Defense at Ft. Meade, MD from 1971 until 2013. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Hope College in 1969, her Master of Science from the University of Illinois in 1971 and her Master of Philosophy from the George Washington University in 1980. Patricia was a founding member of the Bay Winds Band, a long time donor and patron of the Washington National Opera, and she was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society and the Washington Capitals Fan Club. Her interests included music, opera, the clarinet, art and art history, genealogy, ice hockey and German language and culture.
    Pat is the wife of the late William Laurence Young; mother of Laurence Edward Young of Goleta, CA and Thomas Alexander Young of Lynnwood, WA. Pat is also survived by a sister-in-law Marcia Cribbs and her husband Francis of Torrance, CA, a nephew, Michael Cribbs and his wife So-Mi of Canberra, Australia and her nieces, Carol Cribbs of Reston, VA, Linda Cribbs of New Ross, IN, Patricia Cribbs of San Diego, CA and Tia Cribbs of Canberra, Australia.
     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to support Washington National Opera at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
