Joshua Olshaw Passes Away

Joshua "Josh" Robert Olshaw passed away Sunday, October 25, from injuries suffered in a car accident.
Josh was born November 24, 1997 in Wilmington, NC and has been a resident of Davidsonville since 2000 attending local public schools throughout his life. Josh loved to be physically active playing football, basketball and lacrosse in his youth. He loved to be out socializing with friends and eating at Chick-fil-a. He was a personable young man who knew how to talk to anyone and make them feel comfortable. Like all teenagers, he lived by social media and his iPhone. Josh was on the lacrosse team at South River High School where they won the 2014 Maryland State Lacrosse Championship. He graduated from South River in 2015. In his high school years, he also played T2 club lacrosse (I addition to SRHS) travelling and playing in summer tournaments. This fall he began his college career at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA where he was a member of the Lacrosse team. He loved the New England Patriots inheriting his passion from his father and his Massachusetts roots. Special memories included attending Patriots training camp one summer where he got Jerod Mayo's autograph. He attended multiple games both locally and at Gillette Stadium. He was a regular attender at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Davidsonville where he participated in their youth group and in many mission oriented activities including two trips to an orphanage in Acapulco,  Mexico.
He is survived by his parents Bob and Debi Olshaw; Abbie, his sister; his grandparents, George and Jean Shiflett of Edgewater, MD; his Aunt and Uncle, Coni and Bob Giannini and their daughters, Neva, Tessa and Mara. Preceding him in death was his paternal grandparents, Robert and Isabel Olshaw.
