Brumwell Given Probation

Circuit Court Judge Michele Jaklitsch gave Wayne Brumwell, 53, probation before judgement for his role in the Jan. 7 incident at Brumwell's Flea Market on Mountain Road.
Brumwell was accused of firing a gun during a confrontation with an 18-year-old Davidsonville man who was caught by the Brumwell family doing "doughnuts" with his truck on the property after-hours. Damage to the property totaled $6,000, according to charging documents.
Jaklitsch gave Brumwell one year of probation, ordered him to complete 40 hours of community service and to forfeit the gun used during the incident. He also is to have no contact with the man caught on the property that night or other state's witnesses.
