Thief Caught In Davidsonville

A man was arrested in Davidsonville after a homeowner allegedly saw him trying to get into his car and chased the suspect on foot.
Anne Arundel County Police say the incident happened early Tuesday in the 700 block of Avila Drive in Davidsonville.
The victim told police he had chased a man out of his driveway and down the street toward Birdsville Road. The victim said he was asleep and was awakened by the outside alarm. The victim went to the front door, and saw the motion light on the side of the house come on.
At that point the resident said he saw a male suspect dressed in dark clothing grabbing the door handles on his 2010 Chevy Equinox, attempting to get inside. The victim then ran out the front door and chased the suspect, but was unable to keep up with him.
Officers soon found a man fitting the suspect’s description hiding in a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix in the 3400 block of Blanford Way. The victim identified the man as the suspect who tried to enter his vehicle.
The suspect -- Randy Ramon Blair, 34, of no fixed address -- was arrested and found to be in possession of a pair of nunchuks, police say. Blair was charged with tampering with auto and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.
