Sixteen Republicans have applied for appointment to replace Cathy Vitale as one of three delegates in District 33. Vitale was sworn in as a Circuit Court judge Monday. The district stretches from Davidsonville to Crofton to Cape St. Claire. The Republican Central Committee of Anne Arundel County will hold interviews open to the public on Tuesday, at 6 p.m. in room 145 at 6 Bladen St. in Annapolis. A candidate must get seven votes from the central committee to have his or her name forwarded to Gov. Larry Hogan, who will make the appointment. If the voting and interviews are not completed Tuesday, an additional meeting will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the same location.
