South River Students Second at Fair

    South River High School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) students Sally Albright and Allison Raines took second place in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Regional Science and Engineering Fair, held at North County High School in March. The sophomores’ entry, which won the South River fair, was among more than 300 submissions by students from grades 6 through 12 in the county competition. Originally titled “Don’t be Selfish, Save the Shellfish,” the project studied the effects of antifreeze on Chesapeake Bay eastern oysters.
