Blanche Hunton Passes Away


    Blanche Hunton, a long time resident of Davidsonville, died peacefully in her sleep with family around her on March 13, 2018. She was 86. 
    She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sue and Mike Klakring, her grandson and his wife Michael and Jenn Klakring, and three great grandchildren. Her husband, Robert, predeceased her in 2014. 
    Blanche was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved with her family to the Washington DC area when a young child. She graduated early from Bladensburg High School and attended Washington Bible College. She and Robert were married in 1950. Her career was with Nationwide Insurance Company in the main office personnel department and later with Skeeter Deale's insurance agency. In addition, she gave private piano lessons to about 30 students and played organ at her church. After retirement, she was active for many years with the Ginger Cove chorus and theater group. In addition to her great love of music, her hobbies included gardening, cooking, sewing, and quilting. 
    A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11 am at the Island Alliance Church, 510 Thompson Creek Road, Stevensville, MD 21666. Private burial will take place at the Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to Samaritan's Purse.
