To benefit the Bountiful Backpack program that furnishes needy children with weekend food, the fifth annual Quacks for Backpacks event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 21 at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville.
Admission to the event is free, which features the famous rubber duck races and a family carnival. Prizes will be awarded to the top ducks racing on a special water course built by Homestead Gardens. The family carnival will include games, face painting, music, food and refreshments.
The rain date is June 4. Business and donor sponsorships are available.
Any family or individual may sponsor a duck or ducks in the races for a $10 donation at www.southcountyrotary.org/quacksforbackpacks.php.
