Hardesty Estates residents are appealing the decision by County Hearing Officer Douglas Holman granting approval for a special exception to allow a childcare center in an RA zone on property accessible only through Hardesty Estates. Existing local daycare centers in the same size category have access directly from Central Avenue or Governors Bridge Road.
At the first hearing before the Board of Appeals on January 10, the Shannahans presented evidence in favor of their application. Residents of Hardesty Estates (http://www.hardestyestates.com) will present testimony at the second hearing on April 4, 6:30 until 8:30 pm, at Arundel Center, 44 Calvert Street. An additional hearing, if needed, is scheduled for May 18, 5:30 to 7:30. After both sides have presented their evidence, the Board will give community members present the opportunity to speak. No written comments will be considered
