Alice Bottone Passes Away


      Alice Marie Bottone, 92, a 16-year resident of Edgewater, and previously of Washington, D.C. and Fairfax, VA, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 surrounded by her family.
      Alice was born on February 26, 1924 in Archibald, PA to the late Adolph and Stella Fasceski. During World War II, she worked at the war college at Ft. McNair where she met her husband, Patrick F. Bottone in 1949. They were married the following year. A devoted mother, she made many sacrifices for her children and was a loving grandmother to her 10 grandchildren.
      Alice was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church and her interests included mystery novels, watching the news and praying the rosary.
      In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick F. Bottone and her eight siblings. Alice was the devoted mother of; Dr. Robert (Kathleen) Bottone, Dr. Mary (William) Curtiss, Gregory (Rachel) Bottone and Dr. Victoria (David) Anderson, beloved grandmother of; Katherine, Michelle, Christine, Stephanie, Patrick, Bobby, Julia, Matthew, Thomas and Caroline.

      Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 320 Cathedral Street | Baltimore, MD 21201 .
