Dorothy Strong Passes Away

    Dorothy Strong Cook, 90, a resident of Churchton, MD for 14 years, died Friday, July 4 at Brightview Assisted Living in Edgewater, MD.
    Born May 3, 1924 in Bridgeport, CT, Dorothy graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport in 1942, and received her Bachelor's Degree in 1946 from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. She did ministry for several years in New York City and later in Connecticut, where she broke new ground for women as a Presbyterian elder. In 1960, Dorothy married Dr. William H. Cook, a neurosurgeon, and they made their home in Stratford, CT, for 40 years, before retiring to Maryland. Dorothy was a homemaker, a loving and beloved wife and mother, and an avid volunteer for numerous church and civic organizations.


    Family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 13 from 3pm until a memorial service starts at 4pm at the Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 4012 Birdsville Road, Davidsonville, MD.
