Anna Haines Passes Away

Anna Waltraud (Ueltzhoeffer) Haines, "Uli/Traudel," a resident of Edgewater, MD since 1989, previously Janesville, WI and Schwetzingen Germany, died peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018, at her home.
Uli was age 69, born May 15, 1949 in Schwetzingen,Germany, to the late Albin and Ida Ueltzhoeffer. Uli received vocational technical training to become a Master Journey Woman in interior decorating and design in Mannheim Germany. She worked as a window display artist until she met her one and only husband of 49 years, John Freeman Haines. An all-powerful "Jesus Love Arrow" hit them both on Easter Monday Holiday in 1969 at the grand opening of "Shepherd's Lounge" in Heidelberg Germany. Uli married John on August 16, 1970 at Bay View Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay WI, USA . After marriage, she and John first lived and worked together as resident managers for two years in the Title Town Motel in Green Bay WI. That is where she learned real "American English" from Green Bay Packer football players, their football competitors and other motel guests. Thereafter she moved often with John, a Federal and State government Environmental Health and Safety Consultant, to Milwaukee, WI. Then Schwetzingen Germany, Janesville, WI and finally Edgewater, MD. All the while Uli was a wonderful loving wife and homemaker. Starting in 1975, she became a wonderful loving mother to son Chris and in 1980 son Lukas. As they were older, Uli rejoined the workforce for several interior design and decorating firms in the USA and Germany. She also taught German language and interior design at a WI Technical College. Wherever the family moved, Uli was a faithful Christian church attendant with her family. As well as joining John in church choirs singing Alto and serving in kindergartens. For about 10 years Uli participated with John and son Lukas in Christian Ministries to USA Military and First Responders like Pointman and Project HOPE. Uli was predeceased in death by her father and mother, named above, her siblings, Rolf and Rainer Ueltzhoeffer.
She is survived by her husband, John ; two sons, Christian and Lukas Haines; sister, Veronika Roesch and one grandson, Oscar Haines. Uli's husband John praises and thanks Jesus Christ, The Great Physcian, all family, friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christs, Doctors, Nurses and caregivers, everyone who loved, prayed, supported and helped us care for, cope with and prevail against Uli's long difficult Alzheimer illness. Which had an early onset in 1995 and gradually worsened but during which Uli was always cheerful and a joy to care for.
Everyone is cordially invited to a memorial and celebration of life service for Uli on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 10 am at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship(CCF), Davidsonville, MD.
