Alice Freeman Passes Away


    Alice Kay Gonder Freeman, 76, a resident of Davidsonville, MD for forty-three years died on Saturday, September 1 at her home. 
    Born on May 15, 1942, in Pennsylvania to the late Leonard and Mary Gonder, Alice was an administrative assistant to the director at the National Library Service, division for blind and physically handicapped, for 47 years. She was a member of Zion EC Church in Pitman, PA and in her spare time enjoyed flower gardening, doing the Washington Post crossword puzzles, neighborhood Bible study groups, loved all animals, especially her corgi dog, Nikki.     
    Alice is survived by her husband, Chester Charles Freeman, whom she married on November 27, 1965, and her daughter, Mary Ann Freeman of Millersville, MD. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Charles Gonder. 
    Two services are as follows: A funeral service will be held at Zion E.C. Church, 247 Zion Church Rd., Pitman, PA on Saturday, September 15, from 10 am until her funeral service begins at 12 pm. Interment immediately following the service in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Saturday, October 13 at 2 pm.
