Robert S.
Morris, 80, a 28-year veteran of Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department
who retired as commander of the helicopter branch in the Special Operations
Division, died April 21 at an assisted-living center in Davidsonville, Md. The
cause was cancer, said a daughter, Sandra Kendrick
Mr. Morris, resident
of Riva, Md., was born in Washington. He retired from the police department in
1985, then for 10 years was security director at the Weston Hotel in Washington.
He was an amateur aircraft pilot and a water skier.
