Two women are in critical condition after a Saturday morning
crash on Route 424 in Davidsonville, police said.
Around 9 a.m., a 20-year-old woman heading
westbound near Rutland Road swerved over the yellow line "for no
obvious reason" and hit another vehicle driving eastbound head on, said
Anne Arundel Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure.
"The second driver was trapped
but conscious," he said.
The second driver was an adult female,
Frashure said. The 20-year-old was flown to University of Maryland Shock
Trauma Center in Baltimore, and the second driver was taken to Prince
George's Hospital Center, he said.
A traffic safety
team responded to the scene and cleared the roadway by noon, Frashure
said.
