Mary Alice “Sweetie” Smith, 89 and a resident of Davidsonville for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Cathy Rossback. She was born in Washington, DC on March 17, 1934 to the late Vincent and Ivy Phillips. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and she enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Smith, sons David, Donald and Alvin Smith, her daughter, Barbara Bozzi, and a granddaughter, Crystal Smith She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Bobby) Rossback of Davidsonville and Debbie (Frankie) Merson of Charlotte Hall; her grandchildren, Donald, David and Michael Smith, Kris and Matt Wagaman, Jay Dorsey, Joey Bozzi, Kyle Lentz, Robert Rossback, Jr., Davi Eppright, Amy Paulk and Carly Cooper; and great grandchildren, Jade, Mikai and Asayah Smith, David Smith, Jr., and Anthony Smith, Sara McCullough, Hunter Wilson, Thomas J. Bozzi, Brody Hohn, Aden Wagaman, James and Ross Cooper, Cole, Jenna and Tucker Rossback, Meghan Lentz, Ella and Anna Dorsey, Jameson Smith, David Taylor and Stevie Eppright.
A memorial service to celebrate Sweetie’s life will be held on Sunday, July 9 at 5:00 PM at the home of Cathy Rossback, 2868 Davidsonville Road, Davidsonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
