Martha Robey Passes Away



     Martha Robey, 81, a thirty-eight year resident of Davidsonville, MD and formerly of Glenn Dale, MD died of cancer on Saturday, May 27 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.      Born on October 31, 1941 in New Jersey to the late William and Martha Hunter, Martha graduated from Bladensburg High School and worked as a financial analyst with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville. Martha lived for her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved watching her grandkids play sports and was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors.     Martha is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Robey, Sr.; her children, Sharon Shackelford and her husband, Jeff of Crofton, MD; George “Andy” Robey, Jr. and his wife, Delia of Bowie, MD, and Donna Spencer and her husband, Bruce of Davidsonville, MD; her siblings, Bill Hunter of Middletown, VA, Cecilia Hunter of Millsboro, DE and Pat DeMarco of Ashburn, VA; her grandchildren, Nick (Kasey) and Doug (Sarah) Shackelford, Alaina (Robbie) Lewis, Megan (Ricky) Schruefer, Andrew Robey, Patrick, Cameron and William Spencer and her 4 great-grandchildren, Sloane, Lincoln, Franklin and Abigail Shackelford.     Friends are invited to celebrate Martha’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, June 7 from 4 to 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Thursday, June 8 at 11 am. Entombment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum in Davidsonville, MD.
